About Mumin
Every Muslim in the Muslim world believes in Allah Subhanatayala, the creator of the universe. Surah Al-A'raf verse 54 in the holy Quran states: “Our Guardian-Lord is Allah, who created the heavens and the earth in six days, and is firmly established on the throne of authority. He draws the night as a veil over the day, each seeking the other in rapid succession. He created the sun, the moon, and the stars, all governed by laws under His command. Is it not His to create and to govern? Blessed be Allah, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the worlds!”. Interestingly, the greatest creation in this world is man, who possesses conscience, intelligence, and the ability to distinguish between good and bad. However, as the highest level of creation, human beings are created very weak because they cannot live alone without the help of other human beings (Surah An-Nisa verse 28: “Allah doth wish to lighten your difficulties: For man was created weak in flesh”). An infant needs the help of their parents for a long time for survival, including food, clothing, and shelter. Unlike other creations such as animals, birds, and insects, human beings require assistance for survival. Farmers grow crops, and laborers prepare it as food, while other professions such as teachers, scientists, and politicians rely on this food for their lives. Throughout their lives, people struggle for their livelihoods and work hard to sustain their economy. (Surah Al-Balad verse 4: “Verily We have created man into toil and struggle”).
Allah Subhanatayala has clearly stated the true purpose of His creation through the verses of the Holy Quran. He wants to test His last creation, man, who is good in deeds. Surah Al-Mulk verse 2 says: "He Who created Death and Life, that He may try which of you is best in deed: and He is the Exalted in Might, Oft-Forgiving". Therefore, those people described in the Holy Quran will live on earth by obeying the orders of this invisible creator (Surah Ikhlas speaks about the unseen creator “Say: He is Allah, the One and Only; Allah, the Eternal, Absolute; He begetteth not, nor is He begotten; And there is none like unto Him.”). They are the best souls, they are the successful ones, and they are the ones who have the good news of getting Paradise in the next life. Surah Baqarah verse 2 says: “This is the Book; in it is guidance sure, without doubt, to those who fear Allah”. Surah Baqarah verse 3 says: “Who believe in the Unseen, are steadfast in prayer, and spend out of what We have provided for them”. Surah Baqarah verse 5 says: “They are on (true) guidance from their Lord, and it is these who will prosper”.
Therefore, in order to be a believer, one must refrain from the forbidden acts described in the Holy Quran and Hadith. These prohibited acts are: 1. Giving, taking, and working with interest, 2. Shirk, which means taking someone other than Allah as a deity, 3. Intoxication, such as alcohol, marijuana, cigarettes, and other harmful substances not beneficial for the human body, 4. Intermarriage with men and women outside of lawful marriage and having any relationship related to marriage with the 14 close relatives mentioned in the Quran, such as parents, uncles, aunts, grandparents, grandchildren, siblings, and marrying two sisters at the same time, 5. Pork, 6. Consuming animals slaughtered without the name of Allah Subhanataala, 7. Consuming animal blood, 8. Gambling, 9. Gossip and slander, 10. Lying, 11. Obscenity, 12. Speaking harshly, 13. Killing, 14. Oppressing, 15. Disobeying parents, 16. Theft, robbery, and burglary, 17. Bribery or engaging in illegal transactions, 18. Cheating, 19. Creating mischief for no reason, 20. Giving and taking dowry, 21. Deceiving, 22. Disregarding promises, 23. Misusing or embezzling another's property, 24. Engaging in wrongdoing, 25. Not wearing hijab (for both women and men), 26. Betraying a trust, 27. Abandoning prayer, 28. Practicing sorcery, 29. Denying fate or fortune, 30. Taunt after benefiting someone, 31. Boasting, 32. Fasting without a valid reason, 33. Committing suicide, 34. Slandering a chaste woman, 35. Not paying Zakat, 36. Harassing one's neighbor, 37. Severing kinship ties, 38. Claiming knowledge of the unseen, 39. Relating to and trusting in superstitions, 40. Not being pure from impurities like urine, 41. Contracting temporary marriages, 42. Committing perjury, 43. Intimidating or threatening with weapons, 44. Acting arrogantly, 45. Men wearing silk, gold, and silver, 46. Removing eyebrows for beauty purposes, 47. Men and women behaving inappropriately, 48. Looking lustfully at the opposite sex, 49. Indulging in false beliefs or practices, 50. Seeking divorce without valid reasons, 51. Disobeying a wife to husband, 52. Breaching trust, 53. Not fulfilling promises, 54. Believing in charms, 55. Selling adulterated goods 56. To be jealous and 56. Obstructing the way of Allah.
In the light of the Holy Qur'an and Sunnah, involvement in the above prohibited acts is mentioned as punishment in Hellfire. Man is not an angel who lives only by praising God. Man is the best creation of the Creator, in which both good and evil functions are running, whereas angels have only one function which is to do good. The instigator of evil deeds described in the Holy Qur'an is the banished Satan. This invisible devil is the greatest enemy of man. Surah Bani Israel verse 53 says: “Say to My servants that they should (only) say those things that are best: for Satan sows dissensions among them. For Satan is to man an avowed enemy." Surah An Nahal verse 63 says: “By Allah, We (also) sent Our apostles to Peoples before thee, but Satan made their own acts seem alluring to the wicked. He is also their patron today, but they shall have a most grievous penalty.” Verse 6 of Surah Fatir says: “Verily, Satan is an enemy to you, so treat him as an enemy. He only invites his adherents, that they may become Companions of the Blazing Fire.”
The sole purpose of Satan is to persuade people to join his group and engage in the crimes or prohibited acts mentioned in the previous paragraphs. Therefore, the main goal of humanity is to recognize this devil and avoid falling into his trap. This is why believers should always seek the assistance of Allah Subhanataala through patience and good deeds. Only then can individuals achieve success in this world and the hereafter. As Muslims, we believe in Almighty Allah Subanatala and His Messenger Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).
